Maddie and Wally make their way through the afterlife behind the doors in an effort to find Simon. Meanwhile, Van Heidt continues to do everything he can to ensure the school is destroyed and he finally gets the land he’s always wanted.

Simon is missing after what happened in the church scar, and the ghosts are searching for clues. Meanwhile, Xavier and Maddie are headed to the hospital with KC Jensen’s body in an effort to keep him alive. And they are drawing the suspicion of Superintendent Hunter-Price.

As the cadets get ready to mark the end of the first year and the dedication of the new seat of the Federation, Caleb finally finds messages from his mother. He, along with three others, go to find her and it creates a situation where Ake, Reno and the Doctor have to leave Federation space to go save them.

Tarima returns but the physical damage she suffered from saving the crew on the Miyazaki forces her to move from the War College to Starfleet Academy. Lt. Tilly takes a break from teaching third years, at the request of Chancellor Ake, to teach theater to the first year cadets. And SAM’s very existence is on the line as her glitching becomes overwhelming.

Simon and the rest of the ghosts head back into the scar to try to learn more about White Eyes as they realize he’s likely not Arthur Van Heidt. Meanwhile, Xavier and Maddie learn where Kyle’s body is now and how they can communicate with this spirit.

Sam and Jay are seeking to get their B&B on an important list of luxury places to stay, but the reviewer is very picky, so they give him a gift that may be more problematic than helpful. Meanwhile, Thor and Flower have a fight that leads to them enlisting Pete as a couples counselor.

Georgie’s mom’s church is hosting a carnival for the community and they want Mandy to try to get it on the news. Mandy is excited at the potential for more time on air, but her opinion ends up rubbing Mary, Pastor Jeff and much of Medford the wrong way, leading to an important decision for Mandy and her family.
