It’s not often ghosts end up being haunted rather than doing the haunting, but the fourth episode of season three of Ghosts sets up a troublesome time for Pete, the loveable scout leader who died at Woodstone Manor in the 1980s.

After struggling with the disappearance of Flower during the first two episodes, season three of the third season of Ghosts felt a lot like the first season shenanigan and hijinks fans love.

A new ghost power is revealed in the second episode of season three of Ghosts. It’s revealed that Sas can enter people’s dreams and possibly influence their subconscious. He really wants Jay to get a pizza maker for the restaurant he’s trying to build in the barn. In the end, other ghosts, Sam and, eventually, Jay learn about this manipulation that causes a rift between Jay and Sas.

Scott Calvin and Magnus Antus finally square off in a battle of Santa Clauses. Betty and Olga learn they have much more in common than previously believed. And Noel finally shines as Head Elf as he convinces the gnomes to join the elves in their fight against the Mad Santa. In the end, Scott Calvin maintains his rightful place as Santa Claus, his family learns important lessons about themselves, and the Mad Santa finds his place in the modern world.

She’s back. Head Elf Betty returns to give Santa Claus the real story of the fall of Magnus Antus to the Mad Santa and her role in him being overthrown. Meanwhile, Sandra reconciles with La Befana, and viewers learn more about her role in helping the elves overthrow Magnus Antus, as well as her prior history as one of the legendary figures. And Cal ends up face to face with Mad Santa and Olga as he tries to recover his lost vest that has granted Santa Magic back to Mad Santa.

Santa and Cal step up to fill the Easter Bunny’s paws after Sandra accidentally turns the Bunny into a real bunny. The pair end up having to dodge the Mad Santa and his gnome sidekick while Santa tries to repair Cal’s relationship with Riley. It’s the first meeting between the current Santa and the deposed Santa, setting up their eventual battle in the season finale.

The Mad Santa is still trying to recover his powers and figures out a trip to the North Pole could restore those powers and help him in his quest to re-assume the mantle of Santa Claus. Meanwhile, Cal and Sandra are bonding as siblings while struggling with their new powers. This leads to a situation where the Claus kids return to the regular world and accidentally leave behind a way for the Mad Santa to return to the North Pole.

One of the best parts of the film trilogy is the introduction of other magical and mythical creatures. Episode two of season two features Cupid played by Kevin Pollack. He is on hand to spy on Santa as the other magical creatures are aware of Santa’s plan and aren’t sold on the idea of Cal as the next Santa. While most magical creatures don’t intervene with the actions of others, they are considering taking action if Cal isn’t ready in three months.

The Calvin family is back and this time, Scott Calvin is determined to ensure his time as Santa Claus is a family affair. Building off the popular The Santa Clause trilogy of films, Disney+ unveiled The Santa Clauses just before Christmas 2022. The show garnered a big enough following in its first season that a second season was greenlit and filmed just in time for November 2023. Tim Allen and Elizabeth Mitchell returned as Santa and Mrs. Claus, but this time there’s an evil Santa from the past who is returning to try to wreak havoc on the North Pole and Christmas, at large.
